Sr. Accountant (General Ledger)
Location: Livermore, CA
Status: Full Time, Employee
Top Grade Construction is seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant who is responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with general accounting. Under the direction of the Accounting Director, the Sr. Accountant performs a variety of complex duties in general accounting, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, assist in the monthly financial close, assist in audits, maintaining fixed assets and perform special projects analysis as needed. Also, the Sr. Accountant will be responsible for treasury functions including new bank accounts, implementing of new accounts, fee analysis and implementing other new bank services as required. Discretion should be preserved at all times due to the confidential nature of a private company.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Maintain and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
* Treasury functions including maintenance of bank accounts, wire transfers, cash receipts, sweep account transfers, and ACH's
* Daily cash tracking and forecasting
* Maintenance and operation of fixed assets systems
* Maintenance and acquisition of all business licenses
* Assist in preparing and researching questions related to audits such as (GAAP, bank, OCIP, overhead, insurance, union and others)
* Maintenance of debt schedules and payment of debt obligations
* Preparation of inter-departmental allocations
* Bank account reconciliations
* Preparation of miscellaneous returns such as property tax, fuel tax, business licenses
* Miscellaneous periodic reporting (bank balances, equipment and others)
* Assist in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
* Back-up Accounts Payable Manager during absences
* Maintain current desk manual
* Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Accounting or Finance
* 6-8 years of general ledger accounting experience; strong knowledge of GL and experience in a project based business a plus
* Excellent customer service skills
* Technical proficiency in JD Edwards required; experience usin Crystal reports strongly preferred
* Strong experience using MS Word and Excel
* Commitment to delivering quality service that meets or exceeds expectations
* Ability to work under pressure, with integrity and positive customer service
* Excellent analytical skills
